Dr. Carey Thomson MD is a clinical Pulmonologist, Chair of the Department of Medicine and Director of the Multi-disciplinary Thoracic Oncology and Lung Cancer Screening Program at Mount Auburn Hospital/Cambridge, and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She has worked extensively regionally and nationally to improve programs to increase the detection of early-stage lung cancer through both lung cancer screening and lung nodule pathways, including utilizing technology and navigation to support these efforts.

She is currently Chair, Early Detection Implementation Task Group of the National Lung Cancer Roundtable, and active member of the ATS Thoracic Oncology group. She has recently led the effort of the NLCRT to develop LungPlan, a Resource tool for LCS programs, and recent Co-Chair of a NLCRT Workshop on Harnessing IT and EMR to accelerate Lung Cancer Screening. She is Co-Chair, along with Dr. Andrea McKee, of the ATS/ALA Implementation Guide and Website for Implementation of Lung Cancer Screening.
