Jacob Sands, MD (President) is a thoracic medical oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where he treats patients with lung cancer and performs clinical research on lung cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Dr. Sands started his career at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center where he was a member of the CT lung screening steering committee. He serves on the NCCN guidelines committee for lung screening as well and has been an invited speaker at many conferences including the NCCN guidelines conference. He also serves on the IASLC Screening & Early Detection Committee. Dr. Sands leads the clinical small cell lung cancer program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and serves on the NCCN guidelines committee for small cell lung cancer. He is the PI of an NCI-sponsored adjuvant non-small cell lung cancer trial and leads multiple clinical trials in both non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Dr. Sands is a volunteer media spokesperson for the American Lung Association and scientific advisory board member of the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer.
