Kim Rieger-Christ, PhD is an active member of the Lahey lung screening program and Chief Scientific Officer of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Research Assistant Professor at Tufts University.  She is Director of Cancer Research and Director of Translational Research leading numerous studies on the molecular events underlying neoplastic progression as well as the discovery and validation of molecular biomarkers to aid in the diagnosis and prognosis of various cancers. Among many projects she has been involved with, Kim was the Lahey PI for The Cancer Genome Atlas Project. She is the recipient of a LUNGevity Foundation Early Detection Award entitled “Nasal Biomarkers for the Evaluation of Lung Nodules Found by LDCT Screening.“ Kim has served as a reviewer and chairperson for the Department of Defense lung cancer grant program. She built a translational research program that focuses on various research initiatives within the lung screening space including prospective collection of samples such as blood and nasal swabs from patients undergoing lung screening with more than 3400 samples from over 2400 patients. She serves as site Principal Investigator on grants from the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health and Stand Up To Cancer.
